This moring my black sex link hen seemed to be "doing her business" for longer than usual. When I went behind her to see what in the world was going on, I saw what looked like a piece of fettacini (sp?) noodle.

Is there a worm that looks like this? If so, what kind is it?

All I can say is DARN IT!!!!!!!!!

I don't understand how some people say they let their bird free range and have never had to worm them!

Mine free range a bit and I keep the coop and run clean!

All I have here is Wazine. It's been awhile since I've used it. I forget what the dosage is per gallon and how many days to use it for. Can anyone help with this?

So Wazine cannot be used for this type of worm?
I just sent an email to firststatevetsupply.

Update: I haven't seen anymore worms yet this morning. YET being the important word. So, can I use Wazine 34? I have a huge jug of it and don't want to spend more money on something else if I can just use the Wazine.

i am a vet tech. i dont see any chickens under the microscope other than my own.. but this is what ive learned..

was the worm flattened? or did it have little ringlets, rivets in it?

if it was flat, its prob a chicken tape worm

if it had ring like lookin things its prob a round worm (very common)

might want to worm for all .. even cocidia

tractor supply sells wazine. it doesnt treat hook/tapes. but itll take care of the rounds for you.

but id do that and then get an ivermec type wormer

i bought some off of mcmurray hatcherys website. its kinda expensive, but u need something that treats MORE than just round worms.
