The second picture shows that the oval mass was like a pouch or pocket.

What kinda throws me is that the thin extension coming from the oval mass is tubular, and opened into the pocket of the oval mass.

No. But one of them has been laying shell-less eggs. So I’m not surprised

It looks like an abnormal egg membrane. Is your hen getting a balanced layer feed or access to crushed oystershell in a separate container from feed? Does she lay normally?

I wondered about that because it lacked the pus plug and wasn’t the solid mass. At least it doesn’t look like the pictures I’ve seen online.

They are good with feed and supplement. One of mine is laying soft shelled/shell-less eggs. I don’t know who.
