Hi we have lived at this property for 3 years and we had our girl for nearly 4 years at our old address, she was a rescue of 2 years when we got her from the RSPCA. So that would make her nearly 9. She lives in the garden, continues to lay eggs (which we do not eat) and is bright and happy. She seems and looks to be in good condition and although she is without a friend now, she settles on the garden bench with me most days and is on friendly terms with the dogs. She rummages round in the flower beds and chases bugs, sunbathes and tries to creep into the house to get into the dogs bowls. She has fresh water and normal food, layers pellets and corn, what else can I give her part from the pellets ? Her colouring is normal and has not really faded. She really is a lovely colour. I have tried to find out how old chickens live to and everything I have read indicates, 1 she should be gone by now 2, that she would be hobbling around 3, her waddle would be faded etc etc, but thankfully none of this. What age do chickens live to Ive read from 3 to 16 years. thanks for any replies in advance
