Well i think that i got them around the first of April. I also swore that i wrote it on one of my calenders but i can't find were i wrote the date down. so far then one vote for hen and one for a roo.
hmmmm?

Well thanks so much! I hope that you are right. Do you love your
buffs or would you get other kinds if you could? i am thinking about getting some more, not straight run, just pullets and i am trying to decide between these and barred rock or australorp.
thanks again.

I started with the buffs and then I got some lavenders and blacks.

I have the BRs too. I really like them too. Never had an Austalop though.

I have 4 australorps, and they are very pretty birds, and friendly. Not cuddly friendly, just nice. They come when I call, and when I don't call

They are also very good layers for me. The only thing is I now have 2 that went broody on me. One of them is going on her 2nd month of broodiness, and the other one apparently started just to keep the other one company! Her and one of my polish hens take turn sitting on the eggs

Have fun, branch out & get a few different breeds

Oh, my guess on your chickie is a hen, and is a buff orp.
