I have two RIR hens, neither has the saddle feathers that I am seeing. Has it started to crow, or stretch out its neck when it "talks"? One of my 98% guarantee pullet babies, is definitely a roo. He started stretching his neck out and making funny coughing noises at about 6 weeks. Now at 9 weeks, has become a morning alarm clock for my daughter. He holds his body more upright also, then my other pullets. My older hens seem to go for him first, each time that I have attempted a little integration.
