I noticed on one of my 14 week old girls that she doesn't have the tail feathers that my others have. I think she is a Golden Comet sexlink chicken but where does the rumpless come from? If she is rumpless, what does that mean? The only breed I thought was rumpless was the Auracauna and I'm sure she isn't anything remotely related..

In the first picture... The chicken behind her tail is a black sexlink and the one behind her head is a GLD Rooster..same age as she is. Can she just be loosing her little girl feathers and just hasn't gotten her big girl feathers yet? Out of 6 she's the only one without tail feathers..

What rank is she in the pecking order? Did you check to see if there are broken feathers? If there are none, I suppose it could be a genetic mutation. She is a very pretty girl, by the way!

I think she may just be growing them in, or they might have gotten pulled. True rumpless have no tail bone, you should be able to feel that.

She doesn't look rumpless, just tail feather-less. Rumpless is lack of a tail bone and the birds have a distinctive, downward sloping hind end. This girl just need to grow some feathers.
