Is this a weasel?

This guy was in our backyard and killed one of our rouen ducks. I left the duck by the fence where he tried to pull the duck through and it came back the next day. I got my camera and took this picture in hopes someone could help identify the culprit and suggest ways to keep it from coming back.

That is a mink. I would have shot it with something besides a camera. That's how Id get rid of it.

Unfortunately my husband was out of town for 3 nights and by the time he returned, the weasel mink had been in and out of the yard many times and had eaten it's fill. Needless to say, I don't know how to handle guns. Thank you for your advice, though! Hubby's got the gun locked and loaded in case it comes back for another hunting spree.

If you have a gun in the house....Learn how to use it. I made sure my wife is very proficient with all the firearms in my house. We got our concealed carry together and we practice regularly. When we first married in 1984 she didn't like guns at all. Now she's the one that say's, "Lets go to the range Saturday". I'm afraid that mink would not have stood a chance in my backyard no matter who was there to witness him.
