Is this a worm??

I cracked open one of our duck eggs and this is what I see. It was not formed at the end so makes me question if it is just part of the egg? It is hard when I touched it with my fork. Seeing so many posts recently about worms in eggs and then I see this. Has me feeling out a bit .

It is probably just chalaza, the white bands holding the yolk to the albumen.

I was thinking so too but it is so large and hard. Is this common?

Thank you. Puts my mind at ease some. Have never seen it this large before and it was hard.
