I think I might go crazy. Just found a small infestation of these little bugs. I had mites earlier this summer that killed my two best, nicest hens when I was away at work. This bug is much darker and larger. Is this another dang mite?!

Squish it and see if it has blood in it.

Looks like either a mite, or an avian tick.
