Is this because of snow or something else?

This is our leghorn roosters feet. We noticed this yesterday.We live in Eastern Idaho and yes we have snow. This isn’t his first winter. Was this due to frostbite? Or something else?

Yes that looks like he had some frostbite on the right foot, and a little on the left, and the toes self-amputated.

Yikes, that doesn’t look good. Have you checked for bumble foot?

Looks like toes were lost due to Frostbite to me.
Looks like he's already healing up which takes weeks or even a month or so depending on the severity.
