New to this. My girls are 11 weeks, 4 Red Sex Links & 1 Black Laced Wyndott. Have noticed each one will lay down, ruffle her feathers and cover herself with nesting or dirt. Thinking this is a "cleaning thing" but want to make sure it's ok behavior.

I just saw my 6 weeks old doing it yesterday it was hilarious! especially when one puffed up and shook like a wet dog causing a sand storm

dust bathing! Really cute isn't it? :) Mine like to "bathe" under my front deck where there's lots of shade and lots of dirt.
