Hey guys,
I don’t know what is wrong with my brahma’s foot. I noticed she was favoring her left foot on Friday afternoon. When I looked at it I didn’t notice anything too odd but it was a little red by one of her toes. On Saturday morning when I checked on her she was sitting a little more than normal but still nothing too crazy. By that afternoon her toe looked swollen and bruised and at that point I saw a black spot on the bottom of her toe (I don’t know if it was there on Friday or not). I did an Epsom salt soak and put her in a small dog crate for the night with soft bedding. This morning I went and got vetrymicin and vet wrap and tried to do “surgery” but the black spot didn’t feel like a scab and I couldn’t remove it (the spot is flush with the skin and feels soft like the rest of the toe). I sprayed vetrymicin on it and wrapped her foot but does this look like I’m dealing with bumblefoot? I’m still pretty new to chickens so I don’t know if I should wait it out and see what happens or keep treating it like bumblefoot. The first two pictures were taken on Saturday after her soak and the last two are from today after her soak. It looks like it’s not as swollen as yesterday but I don’t know if that’s wishful thinking on my end. She’s eating and drinking like normal and she’ll walk around when I have her out of the dog crate but she does seem to have a little limp. Thanks I’m advance for any opinions!
