Is this Bumblefoot?

Does this look like Bumblefoot? Hen has started limping very badly and cannot really walk. Almost looks like she can’t feel her right leg. She stands on her left one, and extends the right one forward. Toes curl when I bend the leg. There’s no visible signs of anything broken. I noticed the brownish calous under her left foot and am wondering if it’s the dreaded Bumblefoot. She eats and drinks fine and has laid an egg yesterday. I have her inside in a small cage. This will be the third day I have her inside. Can’t leave her with the others as she’ll probably get picked on and mounted by the rooster.

Looks more like healing of an abrasion of some kind. I would apply topical antibiotic cream a couple times a day. I would not worry about wrapping it at this time. Try to keep it as clean as possible.

Ok, thank you. I did put some topical antibiotics just before posting. I will keep soaking in Epsom salt also.

Sounds like a good plan. Try to find the cause. Do you have an area with a lot of sharp rocks?

Can you keep the crate in the coop?

If limp is really bothering them by inhibiting their normal activities too much, I will isolate them in a crate to 'force' rest for a day or two. Letting them out late in day, an hour before roost time, to give them a stretch and evaluate their mobility, then decide if they need another day and put them back in crate off roost after dark. Repeat stretch and eval the next day until they are better. Keep crate in coop so bird can remain 'with' the flock.

No rocks. Could be from jumping down from roosting bars maybe? It's winter here in Canada and when they go outside it's mostly snow/ice. I try to put straw or shavings on the ground in their run. But I sometime just let them go out where they please when it's not too miserable outside.

I tried leaving the crate in the coop the first day, but I found that she was panicking and just wanted to get out with the others. I brought her in, and she seems much more relaxed and actually resting more. I ordered a dog crate from amazon and will try putting her back in the coop when I get it. I take her out of the crate when I get home for lunch and after work to see if there's any change. None so far. She eats and drinks and poops normally.
