Today I noticed that my Brahma hen had this big dark scab/callus thing on one of her feet. I’m pretty sure it’s bumblefoot but I don’t want to do surgery if I don’t have to, and there’s not really a scab like I’ve seen in photos of bumblefoot. She’s also currently broody and doesn’t come out of the nesting box. I cleaned it and sprayed vetericyn on it.

It looks like Bumblefoot to me. I would soak it to soften the scab and at least pull the scab off to see if you can get the kernel to come out attached to the scab!

That's the protocol I follow! It works and less stress on the chicken.
Yes! The first time I treated bumblefoot, I used a scalpel and it was traumatic for me and my hen! The next time I had a hen with a bumble, I was searching the threads and saw @coach723 recommend the Tilly's Nest article. It's the only way to go as far as I'm concerned! ❤️‍🩹

Bock Bock Boquet has a couple of good YouTube video on non-surgical treatment as well:

I watched those as well. Now, I've only had 1 case. But, it healed up nicely. She didn't like the foot soaks though. 🤭 But, I figured that was less traumatic than cutting into her foot. I'm too squeamish for that myself, so searched for alternatives.
