Hiya! chicken mom of 3 beautiful girls. I accidentally bought some paper fluff instead of hemp (like the kind that you would use in a Guinea pig or rabbit cage) and I was wondering if it would be safe for to use in their coop? I don’t really want to use the pine shavings anymore after hearing that it’s dangerous for my babies, and I live in Florida which is very hot and I worry sand or straw will burn their little feet. Should I send it back and get a refund or is it okay to use? It’s really soft and nice, i just don’t want any problems for them.

I use hay and as a Floridian, it actually stays cool in the shade (Aka under the roof of the coop). Good luck with them and pics?

What does the 'fluff' look like?
How do you figure pine shavings are dangerous.

I use pine shaving and hay but as long as you dont have a heat lamp or other heat source I dont know why you couldnt use it. In fact I have a friend that uses paper bedding.
