Hello! We have a 10weeks old chicken who is a little lethargic since this morning. She is drinking and I didn’t see her eating much today. She has been having diarrhea. Pictures attached. We are in Florida and it’s very hot now. They have fans going and are in shade. Plenty of fresh water and we give them frozen fruit. We gave them all Nutri Drench. Please help!

While we're on the topic I have a 3 1/2 week old chick who is a little lethargic and not interested in food. S/he is is with 3 other siblings and was recently put in the bunny barn (barn with rabbit cages) with siblings, mom and 21 other 5 1/2 week old chicks. They have apple cider vinegar in the water and no one is seeing any other signs of ick. Crop is mostly empty I'm not seeing diarrhea but with that many chicks it is hard to tell. I rubbed a couple drops of oregano oil on the crop are there any other holistic remedies anyone knows?

Thank you

I try to blend some frozen fruits couple times a week for really hot days.
I would stop the frozen fruit, it can upset their digestive system and cause hypothermia.

Providing fresh cool water several times a day is enough.

You can start her on Corid/Amprolium to be on the safe side, not all coccidia strains present with bloody droppings.

ETA: Deworming might help in case internal parasites are present.
And check the chicks and their coop thoroughly for poultry mites as the blood loss causes aneamia.

There are no home/holistic remedies for coccidiosis and may serious issues.
Corid is just a thiamine inhibitor, it won't hurt them.

Also we checked for mites and no mites. How often should we deworm them? And what’s the best way?

How often to deworm depends on your climate, the number of birds and how big their coop and run are.

A small flock of free ranging birds on several acres in colder and dry climate will need to be dewormed only once or twice a year (spring and fall), whereas a flock of randomly purchased birds from different backgrounds confined to a rather small coop and run situation and living in warm and humid climate should be dewormed at least four times per year.
Some members here on BYC even deworm their flock(s) every month.

There are different dewormers you can use. Here is some information on when and how to use them:

I would go ahead and use Corid since chickens at 10 weeks could be lethargic from coccidiosis. Dosage is 10 ml (2 tsp) of the liquid or 1.5 tsp of the powder in each gallon of water changed daily, for 5-7 days. Do not use vitamins with Corid. If you also want to worm them, you can use SafeGuard/fenbendazole 10% shaken well 0.23 ml per pound of weight orally once and again in 10 days to treat roundworms only. Give it for 5 consecutive days to also treat capillary and gapeworms.
