I posted a picture of this chicken a month ago and the consensus was hen, but I keep worrying its really a rooster, because the comb is a lot bigger than my other cochin of the same size what do you think? still a hen? BB (the birds name) still has yellow on the top of its comb, the comb is bigger than its sister's they are both 14 or 15 weeks.

Its so hard, because these are my first chickens and I have very little experience or birds to compare them too. I"m just trying to plan my spring, and that involved taking count of all the roosters i have that i'll have to find homes for and replace with hens.

crysmom, like the closeup picture. I was gonna just steal it, but I'm not like some people (wildsky) around here. It is sized and ready to go.

If I can (remember to) snag a picture of him this weekend I'll post it so you can compare. He's approximately 16 weeks old (he's black, not buff but still male). His tail forms more of a ball too, not like the nifty puff that the females have.

You're asking for trouble aren't you? I'll sneak into your place tonight and steal your purse - that'll keep you busy - wondering where you left it.
