It's the stuff that holds the yolk in place inside the egg. This is a fertile egg. Ignore the red meat spot, see the white 'bullseye' on the yolk. Last edited: Jul 25, 2015

Yes, that apears to be where the chalaza is connected. I also agree that the egg in question isn't even fertile. No apparent bulls eye.
