This is Dorthy, not sure what breed she is, shes always been kinda weird, not just weird looking. She/he follows around our Golden Lace Wyandotte like a sidekick and our GLW "Solo" usually bosses all the others around but except Dorthy...anyways, the feed store didnt know what breed she was, they pulled out some charts and then they even questioned if shes a chicken.

The way she sits used to remind us of a vulture specially with her long neck and ugly-ish little round head. LOL but I dont think shes a vulture... so anyone know what breed/breedsss or grender? She's about 3 1/2 months.

Those photos are of her/him when he's 3 and a half months old??? That is one slow-developing chicken!

We have a silver leghorn, and between the 2nd and 3rd month, we started really wondering if he was indeed a chicken. We named him Sparrow, because he looked more like a regular bird. We knew something was up when he started to get flashes of color on the wings and tail, but boy did he look scrawny for a long time! Only now, at 4 months old, does he really look like a silver leghorn roo.

WOW!!! A PHOENIX!? Thats crazy, before I got my first chicks I looked up breeds and I remember thinking the Seabrights and the Phoenix Roosters were beautiful and I really wanted a phoenix because Ive always like the name Phoenix and the mythical birds, and I also live near Phoenix Arizona. I never thought she was a Phoenix hen (theyre not as pretty as the cockerels) lucky me! We got her in a bantam variety box at the feed store, I didnt know Phoenix came in Bantam lol

and yea she is at least 3 1/2 maybe even 4 months, very slow developer.

Thanks for your replies!

......wait so I havent done to much reading on breeding(maybe I should post this on a different thread) but does this mean i can some how have a chance at some phoenix-lookin male offspring?if shes a she I dont have any Phoenix roo's but i do have roo's...plenty of them unfortunately. but if she a him can he make phoenix lookin chicks with any hen?
