Hey guys and gals,

Noticed some spots on 2 of our flocks combs and waddles this morning. Wanted to get the opinion of the masses on what it might be. We are hoping its not Foul Pox but from our research it seems to be what it is. Any thoughts or assistance would be welcome.

Thanks,

Cameron

I think the first and third pics are fowl pox more than likely. Sometimes it is hard to tell pox from fly bites or peck wounds. Don't disturb the scabs which may spread the disease. Fowl pox is usually a virus that lasts around 2-3 weeks, requiring no treatment. If you see scabs around the eyes, there can be secondary infection, so I would apply Terramycin eye ointment to eyes of any that get eye scabs. If any look very ill and are not eating, sometimes the wet form of pox can cause yellow lesions in the throat and airway, and those chickens may need extra care eating and drinking.
