Sir Eggcellent
In the Brooder
Here’s a link to a video example of the ‘gaping’ behavior:
I’ve noticed I have at least one Barred Rock pullet yawning or gaping, and stretching her throat. I’ve also observed my quail panting, even though they’re not in all that warm an environment.
Three questions:
1. Is this likely Gapeworm?
2. If so, is there a wormer that will not harm meat or eggs, so that they can still be consumed by humans? The quail will soon be laying, and we have other laying hens.
3. I have birds that range from adult hens to 3 day old chicks. Is there one wormer that will work for all (with dosages adjusted, obviously?)
Thank you for any help!
