This is Ira. I just got this AMAZING little guy wednesday night. He is an EasterEgger cockerel.

Isnt he just gorgeous? And look at that tail!

Anyway, I was thinking he looks awful small. They said his parents were on the small side, but not banty. Their friends hatched him. Luckily, he gets along GREAT with the girls. I think its because no one is sure what he is.......

They said he was hatched on Easter (April 12). Hes fully feathered, and hes *attempting* to crow.........sadly, it kinda sounds like a little girl screaming!

They said he was starting to mount and court the girls.......does any of this sound right to you guys? And look at how red his comb is.....he is so small........And hes still making baby noises!!!! Im just very paranoid....

its been a long time since i've had babies his age. He is a sweet little guy...i can pick him up easy, he hasent shown any bad behavior.

If he's just over 2 months old he's got quite a bit of growing left to do. I think he'll probably turn out to be a standard. Very pretty!

I think the bird is a bantam and I think he is way over two months old. I have never seen a bird with that long of sickle feathers at the age of two months.

It's just not possible, they have to get rid of their down, get their chick feathers, juvenile plumage and around 18-22 weeks they grow adult plumage.

This bird is a minimum of 5 months old. Maybe he was hatched last Easter.

An average is supposed to be 15 weeks to reach their full height (or so I read somewhere) but they're still not at their full weight at that age. So he's go a ways to go. I have his twin brother, who was bought as a pullet, but that's OK, I think I'm keeping him.

Thanks so much guys! For the replies and the compliments

I thought maybe something was rotten in denmark.....

I'll still cross my fingers that he's a LF, and he'll have a magical growing spurt! If hes not, I'll just get anouther coop and get me some banty hens! Hes WAY to cute to do away with!

besides, I've always wanted some japs and d'uccles.......and mom wants some silkies.....
