Is this molting

These are the tail feathers of two of my chickens, is this molting are they unwell somehow?

How old are they? Are you in the northern hemisphere?

To me it looks like feathers that are getting older. Generally birds molt going into fall.

We are in the northern hemisphere, these birds are a year old and honestly I’m not sure they molted ever last fall as young birds.

They do not molt when under a year except to grow in the adult feathers as they grow. Yours will molt this fall than and replace all their worn out feathers. I've seen molts start as soon as the end of July here. Most molt from August to December. They all do so at their own time and pace.
