Is this normal for chickens

I agree with the previous response, looks too wound-like to be normal molting.

I have no rooster. I only have 6 hens. 4 Rhode island reds and 2 ISA Browns

Okay, it's likely you have an aggressive hen then. It's often called hen-pecking, when hens peck each other and pull out feathers like that.

Maybe mites? I just dealt with this and mine were losing feathers like this

Some no-pick spray after you clean the wound will come in handy!

I would definitely go over them an check for lice/mites. Sometimes in the absence of a rooster a dominant hen will mount the other hens, just like a rooster would. Feather picking is commonly caused by overcrowding, boredom, not enough protein in the diet. Just some things to consider. Spend some time observing behavior to see if you can pin point the problem.
