Hello everyone, I have a quick question about my turkey poult. He’s probably around 4 weeks old (not completely sure), and he seems to have a hard time taking car of his tail feathers. They’re raggedy and dirty. His other feathers are clean, and I frequently see him grooming himself. I have chickens too, and they don’t seem to have a problem keeping their tail feathers looking nice. Would this be considered ruffled feathers, or is that something else?

Post photos so we can see what you are talking about.

It isn't unusual. Turkeys in general do not take as good of care of their feathers and feet as do chickens.

Thank you! This guy has had a rough time since I got him, so I'm a little paranoid when it comes to his health.
