is this normal from new layers?

I went out to the "coop" tooday to find an egg that was about the size of our storebought extra large eggs. When I cracked it open I found 2 yolks in it instead of one. Is that normal for a new layer.

Yes it is normal because they are trying to get going correct. It can also be a family trait. It is normal though.
