One of my Muscovies has started losing her feathers but only from back of her neck down to top of her back is this normal molting? Its has been extremely hot this past month would that cause it? My other one does not have this problem, I am worried there is something wrong.

Do you have a duck and drake, [sorry i can't remember] but sometimes mating the drake can be rough and pull out feather on the ducks neck. Have you checked her for parasites?

They are just over a year old now and I am still unsure if I have a female and one male or if they are both female , so far I have not seen any activity to say one is def a male as I am not with them 24 hrs a day and no one near me who is duck expert, but I do know that the one who is losing the feathers on her neck is defo a female as she lays an egg a day but has not done so for about 5 days, would say that is when feathers started to come out, also she is not so keen to go in pool this last week. The other has never laid an egg to my knowledge. I had her on my knee for cuddles yesterday and I dont see any signs of any mites.

If you have a pair there will be a very big difference in size. If they are very close in size then you probably have 2 females. This could still be caused by the other even if female. Are they with other birds at all? I had a chicken that was bothering a muscovy hen that was setting.

Yes they are very close in size and no obvious difference and no they are separate from my chickens.
