Is this normal molting?

My young turkey hen seemed quite normal yesterday other than a few ruffled feathers. This morning I find her nearly devoid of feathers. No sign of injury or disease. She seems fine other than some shivering due to the cold. She has some new pinfeathers and, late this afternoon, evidence of many new pinfeathers coming through.

She went broody very late this fall; had to take eggs away and force her to leave the nest. Any relationship to molting?

They say broodiness is related to the chicken's hormones, (I'm thnking it would be the same for a turkey) and molting to the length of daylight. Could be some connection, but my guess would be that they are two seperate conditions affecting your hen. Sounds like she kept the feathers until the pin feathers started growing so hopefully she gets her new set before winter.

BTW welcome to the forum.
