I have 4 chickens in a pen together atm.
2 Dominiques and 2 Australorps.
Whenever I approach the pen, Domineak the Dominique, chases Hazel the Dominique, away from me and then runs over to me.

The 2 Australorps seem to have no real involvement in any of this, they dont seem to be in competition with the Dominiques or each other.

If they happen to get in the way of Domineak chaseing hazel, its a very short lived confrontation, if any at all, Domineak is really only interested in chaseing Hazel away from Me.

Mrs. Nezbit the Australorp has been run into by Domineak, the result is that they both rear up at each other for a second and then continue with what they are doing.

They all want to come to me for treats when they see me.. why is Domineak so focused on Hazel as competition.

Because of the extreme disinterest that the australorps seem to have about pecking order, I cant be sure if they are even part of one.

Your thoughts?

Does Domineak think i'm a Dominique rooster or whats going on here?

barg, the birds look at you as the dominant roo and all want to please you, and the rest of the flock is showing the pecking order in my opinion.
