Is this normal?

Hi everyone, I have a 2 sapphire gems, and one of them has strange colored combs. I’ve never had a chicken with anything other than red, but hers is very white and speckled on the sides. She eats drinks and acts very normal. Is this any cause for concern? Thanks!

Perfectly normal, some chickens have white coloured ear lobes

White earlobes = she probably lays white eggs!
And I do not believe that she is a sapphire gem. Although hybrids, SG's are gray with red earlobes, like the hen in my pfp.

Sapphire Gems are a hybrid, so often you will see some color leakage on the earlobes, this is due to genetics/what breeds were used to create the SG's.

Most Sapphire Gems are blue grey, do you have photos of all of her? Some have a darker cape. Regardless, she's a lovely girl.

"White Earlobes = Lays White Eggs"...Can be *True* when you are referring to certain breeds that are not Hybrids.
For Example, a few Breeds that *should* have White Earlobes and lay White Eggs are White Leghorns, Dorkings, Minorca...

So, even though you may see some white color bleed onto an earlobe, it does not mean the hen will lay white eggs. Sapphire Gems *should* lay brown eggs due to their suspected genetic makeup.

She actually just laid her first egg today!! It’s brown but I’m still waiting on the other! She was grey like her sister but has darkened up a lot with age. Here are some photos to show. 2 sapphire gems and 2 black sex links.

I only have 1 Sapphire Gem left, but I have really liked them, they are sweet girls (pretty too).
