is this normal?

since the cold weather, my DH has taken over our 5 BRs and the other day, he brought in their waterer to refill. I noticed there was blood! I figured it was from their combs bleeding. I went to the coop today to refill food and noticed blood on the feeder too! Alot of it.... is this normal? It's cold out but is there something i can do to keep their combs moist???

Are you sure the blood came from their combs?

If so, sounds more like pecking and fighting rather than cold related.

If not sure, you need to determine where it's coming from and then re-post in the "emergencies" section.

My rooster had wounds on his big comb and wattles and when he'd eat, they'd scrape the feeders and smear blood all over the place. You should check to see if anyone is getting pecked.
