Is this odd?

Hey guys, got a hen that was doing her "egg song", went in the nesting box, but stays there for 20-30 min, comes out, goes into a different nesting box, does the same thing, all while singing her song. This has went on for 3 hours now, should I be worried?

How old is she? If she hasnt laid her first egg, she might be trying to do so. I have had hens that sit in the nest box then come out doing the egg song without laying, they have all been fine in the end. It doesn't sound like anything to worry about though.

She is an older hen, we just got her a few days ago, she laid an egg yesterday with seemingly no trouble, was just worried as she seemed to be in some distress.

She may be passing a soft shell, that is usually brought on by stress. If you got her a few days ago she may just be adjusting to her new surroundings and she is passing a soft egg in result of the stress.
