Hello, I am incubating eggs this year, and i'm on day 4. I have been candling the eggs every day to check there progress, and I was wondering if they will be fine if i'm doing this? or will they die. I just candled them and I saw an embryo. I really do not want to mess with them, now i'm not sure if i just killed them. When i candle them I take the egg out, then I shut the incubator and candle the egg for about two mins.

I generally only candle twice - 7 days and around 14 days.

I have to touch my eggs at least twice a day every day to turn them by hand, so depending on how long it takes you to candle, I suppose its fine. I wouldn't spend longer than 10 minutes, but the hen does get off the eggs everyday to eat and drink.

I am a victim of the candling bug, lol. It's fine as long as you make sure to wash your hands first, and don't do each egg for more than one minute. I did it every day my first hatch too, and all of my 5 eggs hatched so it must've been fine.
