They seem to be acting normal, I was just asking because I worry about everything.I heard that juniper is mildly toxic. (That might be juniper?) Why are you asking, are they acting okay?
I saw them eating the tips, we have like 5 or 6 short bushes of it. It's the chicks third time outside and I've heard they eat anything they can, they were eating the green tips on the Douglas fir too.Maybe it's just that I don't get out very much, but I've never heard of a chicken poisoning itself because it ate a plant that was growing outside. I'm almost certain that is juniper and we have alot of it around our house too. The chickens probably like hanging out in it because of the protection it offers from aerial predators, but I'd be surprised if they were eating it.

I sure hope you're right! I'll update if something seems off with them, I just don't know if I can leave them out by the plants without watching them.I'm always learning something! They will figure it out. Chickens, even chicks, know what they need. Maybe they just needed some vitamin CThere also could have been very small bugs on it that you might not have been able to see. Evergreen plants are known to be a host to spider mites.
