This is Kiwi, my nearly 6 month old hen? I'm fairly certain I've seen her lay an egg, but she crows more than my two roosters and cockerel combined. Is it possible she's a he? This started 3 days ago.

That is an impressive scream haha! I can see how it is crow adjacent but just I see a distressed hen. Mine complain similarly if they want something they can't have at the moment, like a specific nestbox.

I've got a hen that crows, gonna get a video the next time she does. Mine's crow is better then your girls though.

That makes sense! Everyone's favorite nest box is on the wall just to the left of that ladder. It's always occupied by at least two hens

I don't have a crowing hen, but I have 2 pullets that yell, Basil and Lavender.
Yes, I am certain they are both females, nothing suggests roo on either of them, Basil lays blue green eggs and Lavender should start any day now (she might have already laid while I was out, I just got home and haven't checked the nest box). Some hens are just yelly lol

No egg from Lavender yet, but I had a thought. From a young age, they have listened to death metal, might that have anything to do with them wanting to shout?

In any case I approve. They have learned well
