The eggs are due to arrive tomorrow, so i've had the bator running since sunday night to get it ready.

temp is holding steady between 99 and 101, mostly doesn't get higher than 100. the hum is mostly between 35 and 45, except when the water ran out, but it jumped right back up once I figured out what was wrong (I'm slow, I know). Is this about right? should I change anything before putting in eggs?

Nope, sounds good!

Just be sure to put some water bottles or something in there to help hold the temps if the bator isn't full.

today my little brother looked at the eggs and asked "Did I come from an egg?"

then when I explained that only birds come from eggs he asks "where is their mommy?" and I explained that the incubator would keep them warm. my lecture was lost on him because he pondered this and said "So their mommy is in the egg."

I gave up.
