My 12 girls free range (until we got snow this week) and I happened to see this poo in the coop this morning. Is it Round worm or…? I would appreciate treatment options, and am assuming I treat all of them? Thank you!

It's not effective in water because it settles, and some birds may end up getting a dose while others won't.

I drip it on a favorite treat (like rolled oats or bread) and make sure each bird gets a dose by rotating each bird into an isolated area, like their coop run, where they can eat the treat without someone stealing it.

It gets a little comical making sure everyone gets their dose, but it's totally doable with 12 birds.

With 2 hands, you can hold 2 treat containers and treat 2 birds at a time. It's okay if things go a little sideways, as they often do with chickens. There's a margin of error with Safeguard, so it's okay if one accidentally sneaks an extra dose.

There are many right ways to get them healthy. What works for us might not work for you. For more approaches to treatment, search for posts from @casportpony like this one: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/safeguard-mash-zero-day-egg-withdrawal.1254653/

Here's another dosing method... I have 18 chickens, and I dose them individually. Safeguard is easy to do as a paste. I dose them at night, starting at one end of the roost and working my way through the flock. I just measure out the dose, grab a chicken, open its beak, scrape the paste into its bottom beak, and plunk the chicken back on the roost. They always just eat it without much fuss. This always creates a little bit of commotion as it wakes up the ducks who make a tremendous amount of noise, but if I'm quick about it, I can get the whole flock done before the ducks get too wound up.

Yes it is a round worm. Valbazen 1/2 ml or sSafeGuard 1/4 per pound will treat them. Repeat in 10 days.
SafeGuard may also be goven for 5 days to treat other worms, such as capillary or gapeworms. Be sure to shake the bottle well, as these are thick suspensions that settle out. For the most accurate dosage give to each chicken.
