Looks like blood spot. They are safe to eat although the appearance isn't so appetizing. You can scoop off the red part and cook as normal or eat it as is. I have done both and I'm certainly fine.View attachment 1453360 i was about to scramble some eggs when I saw this in the yolk... is it fine?
Thanks that answered my post! I will go out on a limb and say that those spots are not related to feed issues as I have been using the same brand for 4 years and this just started doing this. My flock has 17 month Olds and 1 two year old and 4 three year old and 1 four year old. So since they all have been laying for at least a year I also think it is an age issue and it's either the RR's or Australorps.Perfectly fine to eat, just a mild 'yuck' factor.
