I assembled a TS bucket with cup type nipples. Even with teflon tape it leaks. I bought some sealant made for aquariums. Am I correct in assuming it will be safe in my chicken waterer?

Yes, this is just for warm weather. I ordered a heated waterer and a snow-safe extension cord. I'll be picking up the waterer Tuesday. They seem to have lost the cord. After last winter, my first ever chicken experience, i can't face hourly water changes. As for warm weather I'm tired of wasting water due to filth.Sealed from the inside should be fine. Do you have a heated waterer for the winter? I'm guessing you have the cups with the paddle they have to hit. They will freeze in Jersey come winter time, even with a heater in the bucket.
