The Barred Rock is typical hatchery stock, nowhere near show quality. I'll only comment on the one I know well. Not even sure that's a RIR hen--doesn't that pic belong to someone here on BYC and is a Marans of some sort? Looks very familiar.

BarredBuff --

The R.I. Red hen wouldn't be worth showing.
She is very uneven in color, showing lacing in the plumage, lacking black in her tail and lacks in R.I. Red type.. Over all she look very hatchery
Here is a to the R.I. Red Club Message Board lots of pictures on there you ll just have to look for them.

As for the Dominique, I would say he might be OK but he is long in the back, and short in the tail from what I can see in the picture..

Ok, I was confused but that is monkeyingaroundfarm's RIR hen--was thinking it was one of their Marans varieties or something because of the comb on her. No, not show quality, but pretty just the same. I don't think the Buff Orp is show quality, either, but the breed I know most about is the BR. I've had a couple of what I would consider near show quality RIRs and they are just gorgeous, a deep dark black cherry/mahogany tone and very large hens, too.

Dominique - Too much comb for my taste

RIR - Definitely not

Buff Orpington - Definitely not, it isn't even "buff"

Barred Rock - Looks hatchery to me, but all of them look hatchery stock

All together they all look like hatchery birds except maybe the Dominique

None even approach "show Quality". They are hatchery birds, even the Dominiques

The buff seems to have better type than most hatchery birds, but a full body pic would be needed to be sure, and even still, she's likely a hatchery bird. Also, the dominiques aren't great, but the one in back has a decently shaped comb, although I do not see a point on it, which would be a dq. None are show quality.

True show quality barred rocks have a totally different pattern than hatchery birds, and are much larger, so they do not at all look the same
