is this silkie, lavender....porcelin ,lavender splash IDK? UPDATE

Keesmom, I would say they look to be splash and lavender--can't guarantee it, but that is what it looks like to me. One looks like it might be blue and lavender.

Yes it does: lav/lav Bl/Bl. However, it is not a recognised variety. I have one in one of my coops. They have a bit of the look of both lavender and splash to them.

What does a breeder do with a splash lav/blue lav bird, assuming it conforms to the standard? A project? Pet only?

You can show it as blue or splash as it will meet the standard. For breeding, I would suggest breeding to black, not blue or splash. If the black carries lavender, that much the better.

I have a washed out silkie that I believe to be a splash, maybe a lav gene in there somewhere. The lavender feathers next to the skin look different then the washed out splash?
