That looks like a good height.

If they act comfortable, then it is fine. If you hear distress cheeping and they feel cool to you when you pick them up, then you can lower it a bit.

Being ducks, they will grow up to that height in no time anyway.

It looks about right. As an alternative you can set the plate up at an angle with one end lower than the other and they can find the exact right fit for themselves.
