is this too much of a varriation in temp?

I made a homemade incubator and I have been able to get it to turn on at 96*F and shut off at 102*F.. I cant get the varriation any shorter..
 
what kind of setup do you have??? I have a variation of 99-101 using a thermostat, light bulb and pc fan in a styrofoam cooler, can you take a pic?? I'm new at this incubating but again was able to get my temps spot on:lol:
