Is traditional framing necessary?

I feel out of place here sometimes. Every coop shown on this forum seems way over-built, over-priced and too good for a bunch of chickens. I'll make a thread for my new coop this week. Get your flame throwers ready 'cause you'll need them.

Naw, no need to feel out of place, raingarden. Some folks can afford mansions for their chickens, and that's all well and fine. Me, I'm a simple person, and my chickens are happy with their lil lean-to coop. They don't care what it looks like, as long as their nice in comfy in it.

OP here. Boy have I been busy building our new coop! It's taken me some time, as really no one stepped up to help from the family, even tho they all supposedly were so into the project... It is not finished. Outside needs finishing and painting and trim applied, and chunnel to run attached. But the inside is almost done. I need to install ramps to the roosting bars and some chicken wire under the roosting bars to keep the chickens off the poop trays, but other than that it is good. I had to get it livable and get my chicks out of their crowded brooder. It all worked out. I may just need even MORE windows on the south side for more cross ventilation.

Well, you live in an extremely mild climate with very few predators compared to where most other members are.

In a mild enough climate they don't need more shelter than a perch with a rain cover and with few enough predators they don't need more coop and/or run than is necessary to keep them out of your vegetable/flower garden.

Ya, well if we grow it long she looks pretty sheepdog-ish. But smaller and shed less I'm sure.
