Is wicker pieces okay for use in the run/coop?

I have a kitty condo that isn't being used and wondered about putting it in the run for outside laying opportunities. (Minis the pillow of course) The wicker is thick and I guess I'm worried about their toenails getting torn or broken from it. Your thoughts are appreciated! TX!

Ohhhh...I want that!!! Looks ideal to me! Stick some bedding in there and they'll love it. The only drawback I see is if your run isn't covered, will the rain ruin it???

The run is completely covered. Do you think, with the wicker strands being so far apart, the chickens will get their nails stuck?
