Is your painted hardware cloth peeling?

Would love to hear from those of you that have painted your hardware cloth to see how long it holds up before peeling? (Apparently galvanized metal peels when painted?). I’m going to paint mine regardless and would like to know what to expect. Also, if you know what paint you used, that would be great.

We would have used Rustoleum had we painted ours, but hubby hasn't gotten around to it. It's been a year now covering panels for a pen and we do not see anything wrong with it.
