Hi there. We got 3 new isa brown chickens. The seller said they’re 20 weeks old. They’re not laying yet. I’m wondering if they’re not 20 weeks yet and much younger. Because their combs / wattles are quite small and not very red. They’re also not squatting down yet when you pat them on the back. Do they need to have more developed combs to be ready to lay? Wondering what others think? I’ll attach some photos

I think it's really just a waiting game. My first hens didn't lay until they were 12 months old! I don't know why but I just played the waiting game until they started laying. Do you have fake eggs with them? That can help!
