This isn't an emergency (I hope), but not sure where else to post.
I have an Isa Brown cross (can't recall what breed she's crossed with right this moment), about two years old, named Russet after her mottled red-brown appearance. About a month ago, just as the winter chill started to arrive here, she started molting. It was pretty weird and we thought we were about to lose her, but she seemed fine when I left her to the care of my housemates and disappeared for a few weeks.
Just got back, to discover that she's still slowly molting, and that all her new feathers are a uniform glossy black. She's slightly flightier than when we left (I suspect that's just less hand-feeding in my absence) but otherwise seems fine. Any ideas?
The brown feathers are her old ones, showing what colour she was beforehand.
