isa brown/rhode island cross ??

I have several Isa brown hens and a rhode island red rooster. I know the resulting chicks will probably not be sex linked. but was wondering if any one has done this cross. I am wondering what to expect and if anyone has pics of this cross.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join our flock. You're right, the offspring will not be sex linked as Isa Browns are Red Sex Link hybrids that will not breed true. I don't currently have any pics of this cross, but I have crossed RIR roosters with Red Sex Link hens in the past and the offspring are primarily reddish or brownish with a smattering of white feathers (even the cockerels). The hens are typically good layers, but not usually as good as the Red Sex Link (Isa Brown) hens, which are egg laying machines. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. Would anyone have any info on this particular cross breed?
Have some ISA Brown Hens coming and a RIR Rooster and would like to know if the offspring will be good layers?
