This is my first time ever raising anything other than a puppy or kids, lol!

I have 14 ISA Browns and so far, so good. I originally had 12, but lost 4 the first night

Went back to TSC and they gave me 6 free of charge, and since then they are growing rapidly. I love watching them and learning all I can.

What are some tips/tricks that you have? Anything special about this breed? From what I've read, ISA Browns are generally friendly.

I have their brooder set up on pallet boards (there are no spaces in between the boards) with a pine bedding. They love to peck the bottom of the boards. The boards aren't treated, but I'm wondering what they like so much about that wood to peck. It almost looks as if they're pecking the pine bedding to tiny pieces. The are just so funny to watch especially when you can tell when they're trying to figure something out.
